slicersim.nea#
Noise Equivalent Area (NEA) of PSF profiles.
The NEA of a PSF sampled on pixels \(p_i\) is
\[\mathrm{NEA} = \frac{\left(\sum_i p_i\right)^2}{\sum_i p_i^2}
\times \Delta,\]
where \(\Delta\) is the pixel area (or size in 1D) when the result is normalized by the sampling step, such that it does not depend on the sampling of the PSF.
